for those that have heard about this, what do you think about it.
for me, i think cadbury should remain brittish, as it has done for 200 years.
don't think it will be the same.
money talks, unfortunately. and that's all there is to it.
I don't think it'll have any immediate effects, though it depends on the financing of the purchase.
But you could see price rises, in the short term, and you also have to accept the American owners will have their own agendas and may even decide to cancel all cadburry brands in extreme circumstances, just look at the fate of Saab, which GM bought but now has decided to effectively wind down.
Look at Liverpool, bought out with huge debt finance, and now they are starved for money and can't build a new stadium or get new players to help fix their voes.
well it is known that cadbury chocolates have a different formula in america then in british. it will be a shame if they make it all taste like the us version as it is inferior and nasty.
such is the nature of our own creation. america's beer got purchased from a non american company. get use to it. more and more brands will be gobbled by foreign interests. america is now owned by the chinese, soon brits will be owned by....????
I'm in the States but I've had real Cadbury chocolate, and I desperately hope they don't change the formula.
All I know of are those Cadbury Cream Eggs those are awesome ... the big ones you only get once in awhile ...
I love cadbury, it's a damn shame. :(
I think it's awful, and I love those Cadbury Cream Eggs too.
UK PLC doesn't exist. What I own, I can sell to who ever I like. The owners of Cadbury's are no different. It's a global market. If we said that everything that was originally British must never be owned by foreigners, we'd be very poor compared to other more transparent countries.
